The closest relative to humans are the apes. They are animals that are social and are highly intelligent. Unlike monkeys these animals which are the apes do not have tails.. Apes have fewer young and spend longer time raising them. Apes have larger brains and are developed than monkeys do. The first few years the young ones are with their mothers. Apes hands are prehensile which is very unusual. This is why they are capable of grasping things and so their feet are too. Apes have longer arms than legs.
