Longer hair hangs from the neck and gives the appearance of a beard. Bushy eyebrows, a double row of eyelashes, ears lined with hair and the ability to close nostrils and lips tightly serve as protection. Range - The Bactrian Camel is an animal that lives in Asia, Northern Africa, China, and Mongolia. Habitat - It lives in deserts, semi-deserts, steppes, and plains. Diet - It eats herbs, leaves, and grasses. Status - There are only 400 -700 Bactrian camels in Mongolia and 200 in china only . Reason for the status - This is because of human encroachment, sport hunting, and habitat destruction. What type of animal is it - It is a herbivore . Gestation : 12-14 months Longevity : 40 years
