Most bears are animals that are terrestrial Carnivores, but some are herbivores . They have a heavy build a large skull, thick legs, and short tail animals. Bears are Nocturnal animals. They are found in small concentrations in temperate and subtropical regions. There eyes are vertical rounded ears  seem small compared their small heads. The bears hearing and sight are less than developed than their acute sense They have acute sense of smell. Bears walk on their soles ( bottom ) of their feet. Bears have feet that are broad flat and armed with five long curved nonrestrictive claws. Bears have a few vocalizations in communication and few facial expressions.  Hibernation is a state of inactivity in an animal brought about by short day lengths, cold temperatures and limitations of food which is what bears like to do.
