Size - Length:45-55 inches (114-140 cm)
weight - 20-23 pounds (9-10 kg) Wingspan - 9.1 feet (2.8 m) Description : The male tends to be larger than the female - the size difference is minimal and data on sizes of the sexes overlap. An adult California Condor has a distinguishing orange-red head and neck which is bare skin except for sparse black feathers on the forehead. The body is feathered in black with large white patches on the underside of the wings; a black feather ruff rings the neck. The sexes are alike in coloring and plumage. Range - California Condors live in California , Arizona., and Baja California Habitat - They live in mountains Food - It eats Carrion mostly, mostly large animals, and its not known to attack living creatures. What Type of bird is it - A carnivore Status - Condors in the past were declined, but conservationists are still are trying very hard to send them into the wild. Reason for the Status -People have been hunting them for habitat destruction. Gestation - It takes 56 to 58 days for a California condor egg to hatch Longevity - California Condors can live up to 50 years of age
