General Characteristics

Head to body Length including tail - 1.5 to 2 feet 

Tail Length :  3 feet

Height : 20 - 24 inches

Weight :  Males : 6 kg (13 lbs) / Females : 4 kg (9 lbs)

Description : 

 This species of guenon has a Brown dorsal fur with bluish cast on the sides and legs, white ventrally including inside arms, legs and under the tail. The face is black with conspicuous white "mutton-chop" cheeks and a heart-shaped white spot on the nose.

Range - The Guenon lives in Sierra Leone to Ghana, in Western Africa.

Habitat - It lives in upper levels of primeval forest trees, tropical and temperate rainforest.

Diet -   It eats fruits, flowers, young leaves, insects and invertebrates.

 Status - Now they are in the brink of extinction.

Reason  for the status -  This happens because of hunting and habitat destruction.

Gestation : 150  - 213 days
