General Characteristics

Head to body Length  : 150 cm ( 5 feet )

Height : 102 cm ( 3.4 feet )

Tail Length : 7.5-10 cm ( 3-4 inches )

Weight : 38-41 kg ( 84-90 lb )

Description 

The light reddish tan upper coat is primarily composed of long stiff bristles, with a relatively sparse undercoat.  Sharply contrasting with the upper coat are the white undersides, including the insides of the legs, whose coloration extends almost halfway up the sides.  Additional white markings include two crescents on the throat (connected to each other and to the white undersides with a thin white line) and the lower half of the face. 

Range - Pronghorn is an animal that lives in W.USA and Canada and parts of Mexico. 

Habitat -They live in an open grass and brush lands, rarely in open Coniferous Forest.

Diet - It eats shrubs,forbs,herbs, and grass.

Status - Only 140 Sonoran in the United States and 300-500 individuals worldwide

Reason for the status - This is because of poaching, habitat destruction due to overgrazing and damming and diversion of rivers. and oil explorations.

What kind of animal is it - It is a herbivore. 

Gestation : 250 days

Longevity : 7-10 years
