Habitat - forests, savannas, and mountain areas. Diet -The Spectacled Bear eats roots, fruits, berries, leaves, and sometimes insects. Lifespan - 20-25 years in captivity Status - Endangered : There are less than 2,000 in existence at the present time Reason for the status - Habitat destruction, fragmentation due to agricultural growth, and hunting by humans.
