Range - The Sumatran Rhino lives in Indonesia and Malaysia. Habitat - They live in tropical rainforest , motaine forest, forest margins, areas with dense vegetation, and coastal swamps. Diet - They eat a wide variety of vegetation including leaves, fruits, twigs and bark. Status - Numbers have declined by 50% due to poaching the last 15 years. There are now 300 Sumatran Rhinos left in the wild. Reason for the Status - The population have declined 50% for the last 10 years because of that poaching, habitat destruction , and hunting has been happening. What type of animal is it - herbivore Description : The Sumatran Rhino has a leathery hide and it is gray-brown in color, and is folded into armour-like plates. Unique among rhinos, the Sumatran rhinoceros is covered with a conspicuous coat of coarse, reddish brown hair. The body is relatively short and stocky, and the pillar-like legs are short. Two horns are found on the nose in both sexes, with the front horn growing larger than the rear. Males' horns usually larger than those in females. The upper lip is hooked and prehensile.
