Physical Description

Male rhinos are larger than females.

They are among the largest living land animals.

They are usually light gray to dark yellow.

They have very little hair, with a small amount being found on the tips of their tails and ears and irregular scattered on their bodies.

Length :  12.5 to 15 feet ( 3.8 - 5.0 meters )

Anterior ( front ) - 37 to 40 inches ( 94 - 102 cm )

Posterior ( back ) -  22 inches ( 55 cm )

Weight : 4,000 - 6,000 pounds ( 1,800 to 2,700 kg )

Height : 5 - 6 feet ( 1.5 -1.8 meters )

Range : They live in several National Parks primarily located in Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe & Kenya.

Habitat : woodland with nearby open grasslands. They prefer to be in swampy regions

Diet : grasses

Status :

Formerly, during the 19th century, in two separate regions of Africa Southern Chad, Central African Republic, southwest Sudan, northeast Zaire, and northwest Uganda.

This species of rhino was found. Southeast Angola, portions of Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, eastern Namibia, and northeast South Africa.

Now they live in  only limited ranges a mere fragment of this and restricted to game preserves and national parks.

Now there are only 4,000 left in the wild
